How to Open a Lesbian Bar: October Edition
Paid tier changes + returning to a former location lead + random bar opinions
Hi, friends <3 I’m coming to your inbox with another edition of How to Open a Lesbian Bar! First, I wanted to share some changes regarding how I’m going to structure paid content going forward. Basically, from here on out, I will still have a paid tier and be sending paywalled How to Open a Lesbian Bar missives, but all other content will be free for all readers. I’ve realized that trying to write multiple paid posts each month, in addition to public queer history posts that I love writing, in addition to all my other work/commitments, simply is not working for me. I’m struggling to keep up with this standard that I arbitrarily set, so it’s time to change it. Plus, I don’t actually like putting writing behind a paywall; How to Open a Lesbian Bar is the exception, as these posts contain discussion of ongoing bar news that I prefer to keep to a smaller audience.
If you are a paid sub who wants to continue at the paid tier to receive How to Open a Lesbian Bar posts and/or to throw a few dollars each month to our bar opening fund and/or because you like my writing and feel moved to support it with money, I am so grateful! If you want to subscribe at the paid tier for a while and then move back to unpaid, I am also so grateful! Your contribution to our bar fund is seen and appreciated. And lastly, if you are an unpaid subscriber reading this preview, I am so thankful to have you as a reader! When I started this Substack, I was so stoked to reach a hundred readers (and to have any readers at all who I didn’t personally know), and now there are well over a thousand of you here. I truly love writing this blog, and having readers simply rocks. So, thank you.
Okay, moving on to bar news….
